About Bay Leaf
Bay Leaves contain Protolictic enzyme that aid in the the digestion of food but mainly proteins. The leaves are steeped and the tea taken for colds, diarrhoea and to help calm migraines and headaches. They are used on meat, fish, roasts, soups, stews and poultry dishes for its spicy aromatic character and also used to flavor drinks, tea, cakes, etc. The leave should be removed before serving as they can be bitter if the leaves are eaten. Bay leaves contains Vitamin A, C, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Iron. Eugenol, chavicol, pinene and geraniol are present in the leaf oils.
